The course presents the fundamentals of emergency medical care and for performing basic life support procedures. This course meets the requirements of the current US DOT National Standard Curriculum for EMT. This program consists of 320 hours of classroom, lab, hospital emergency department clinical, and ambulance rescue clinical components. An EMT is a professional who delivers basic life support care. The Emergency Medical Technician Program at Santa Fe College is a limited-access, one-semester credit/certificate program, offered during the Fall, Spring and Summer terms.
